Saturday, December 13, 2014

Q. The soldering lessons say to use only rosin-core solder in electronics work, and not to use acid-core solder. What is wrong with using acid-core solder?

A. Acid-core solder will attack the copper and other metals in the connection. The metals will corrode and loosen, making the joint both mechanically and electrically defective.
