Photo sequences are used to illustrate many of the common service procedures & the reasons for performing the procedures, as well as when that particular service is appropriate.
(Includes CIE Student Privileges: Instructor Assistance, Priority Grading and a Certificate.)
CIE Lesson & Exam Material for Certificate:
Lesson 9202: Automotive Wiring Components, CCT Diagrams and Batteries
The modern automobile contains over 50 lamps ranging from the headlights, to the interior courtesy lights, to the various indicator lamps on the dash. The circuits for these lamps can become quite complex. As an automotive electronics technician, it is your responsibility to make sure these systems are operating as they should and repaired properly when they aren't.
Lesson 9204: Lighting & Signal Circuits
This lesson contains information about wiring and batteries. These items are two of the most basic and yet most important parts of the automotive electrical system.
Lesson 9206: Instruments, Warning Devices and Displays
This lesson presents the basic theory of operation for instrument panel gauges, gauge sending units, warning lamps and other warning systems.
Lesson 9208: Accessories
This lesson explores the operation of safety accessories, such as the horn, windshield wipers and windshield washers. Comfort accessories explored in this lesson include the blower motor, electric defoggers, power mirrors, power windows, power seats and power door locks.
Lesson 9210: Automotive Microcomputers
This lesson introduces the basic theory and operation of the digital computer used to control many of the vehicle's accessories. The aura of mystery surrounding automotive computers is so great that some technicians are afraid to work on them. Knowledge is the key to dispelling this myth. Although it is not necessary to understand all the concepts of computer operation to service the systems they control, knowledge of the digital computer will make you feel more comfortable when working on these systems.
