NURBS Modeling with Rhinoceros
This afforable self-paced CD course aims to teach NURBS (Non Uniform Rational Based Spline Curves) modeling in detail with Rhinoceros. This unique study material was prepared by experienced faculty with years of working experience.
Learn Rhinoceros inside and out with major commands explained within the tutorial. Students can easily work with Rhinoceros after finishing the video tutorials on the CD.
The study material is divided into easy step-by-step learning exercises spread out over 10 days.
Day 1: Introduction to Rhinoceros
Introduction to graphical user interface, viewports, opening, saving and importing files, material & shading and introduction to rendering.
Day 2: Drawing with Rhinoceros
Introduction to control point curves, edit points, interpolate point curve, sketch, conic, Introduction to helix, spiral, polylines, sketch on mesh, working with lines, specifying angles and directions, drawing and editing polylines, exploding objects, joining curves, ortho on/off, working with fillet, joining segments, pipe, copy and pasting objects.
Day 3: Workign with Curves:
Introduction to agnle, dimension specifications, circle with radius and diameters, working with center point circle, two point circles, three point circles, osnap, circle around curve, TTR. Introduction to curve tools, extend curve to boundry, curve extend, curve fillet, curve joining, undo, curve chamfer, offseting curves, blending curves
Day 4: Introduction to 3D Modeling
Introduction to CSEC, Pofile curves development, creating a boat with CSEC, lofting CSEC curves, introduction to surface modeling, creating a surface with multiple points, creating a surface with multiple curves, creating a surface with a closed shape, sweep along one rale, sweep along 2 rails, revolve, introduction to patch and drape.
Day 5: Introduction to Surface and Solid Tools
Working with surface tools, extend untrimmed surface edge, fillet surface, blend surface, extend surface, rotation, joining surface, chamfer surface, offset surface, introduction to solid tools, boolean operations with solid objects, extrusion, capping objects, fillet edge, extract surface.
Day 6: Working with Arrays
Introduciton to rectangular array, circular array, array on path, array on surface, working with split and trim, point to copy from and point to copy to.
Day 7: Training Exercises
Making a basic hut with Rhinoceros, saving and exporting mesh file to an environmental rendering engine, working with environments, rendering final output for movies.
Day 8: Developing a creature's body
Introduction to the modeling concept, drawing accurate profile curves for developing a 3D creature body, developing a basic body with neck, stomach and tail all in one, making basic wings, concept of add-on body parts development, developing a basic leg for animal body, attaching the upper leg part with the stomach.
Day 9: Dimensioning and Analyze
Introduction to dimensioning, horizontal dimension, vertical dimension, aligned dimension, dimension angle, dimension radius, dimension diameter, dimension placement, leader, text, editing dimensions, introduction to analyze tools, direction, evaluate point, calculating length and distance, calculating area,
Day 10: Object Tools
Introduction to the concept, projecting a curve to surface, duplicate edge, duplicate border, introduction to intersection, contour, creating section, extracting isoparms.
