Assembly for PICmicro Microcontrollers Course & Lab

Learn assembly code programming for PICmicro Microcontrollers with this 40 hour course with hands-on lab.

Course Description

This self-paced course will show you how to program PICmicro® microcontrollers from Arizona Microchip using assembly code. No experience is needed.

It starts with fundamental concepts and extends up to complex programs including watchdog timers, interrupts and sleep modes. It uses 45 lessons and exercises on the CD and incorporates the hands-on lab.

All software and courseware is included on the CD ROM and the version 3 development board (with USB connection) can be used to both program PICmicro MCU devices and as a development platform for experiments and tutorials.

The CD makes use of the latest simulation techniques which provide a superb tool for learning: the Virtual PICmicro microcontroller. This is a simulation tool that allows users to write and execute assembly code for a 16 series microcontroller on-screen.

Using this students can actually see what happens inside the PICmicro microcontroller as each instruction is executed. This enhances understanding and retains student interest.

Topics Covered:

Introduction
An introduction to the PICmicro series of microcontrollers, to the Assembly for PICmicro microcontrollers package and to the structure of the CD ROM.

Getting started
